I never have the chance to visit London. Well, maybe one day I will. You have to realize that 1sterling pound is equal to RM5.00. That is a lot of money! So, basically I grow up knowing England as the place for the best football club in the world, yes Manchester United it is, the best shopping heaven in the world, yes Harrods it is, the best university in the world, Oxford Uni, and that wax museum, Madame Tussauds.
However, recently, my blogging activity has introduce me a place called The Liberty of London. It is a shopping heaven for luxury and great design. Well, let me introduce you to Liberty of London. Remember the cotton fabric we used to make the baju kurung. You know those small english rose design. Yes, that's the one! It's the trademark of Liberty of London.
yes, the English rose design on the wall. that is why you won't missed this building! |
Arthur Liberty was the mastermind or I can say the owner of Liberty of London back in 1875. Yes, you were not born yet! "It’s Arthur Liberty’s legacy, which stands for integrity, value, quality and above all beautifully designed product. This vision and spirit continues today within the iconic Tudor building."
The 1960s brought about the passion for fashion. Extravagance and luxury were fundamental in the look for both men and women and Eastern influences once again were the inspiration for society. Art Nouveau became fashionable and Liberty adapted the furnishing designs from its archive.
In 1975 Liberty celebrated its centenary. This was heralded by a major exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Today Liberty is the leading destination store in London, a wonderful emporium where the latest fashions sit alongside design classics.
